Synchronic & Diachronic Syntax
My primary research interests lie in the field of comparative and historical syntax of the Romance languages within the generative framework. In different articles I dealt with non-finite complementation in Romance; the emergence of personal infinitives in the history of Spanish; the licensing of null subjects in Old French; the loss of null subjects in the history of French due to contact; Verb Second phenomena and information structure in Old Romance; partially pro-drop languages; and ethic datives.
My experience also includes the comparative and historical syntax of the Greek varieties –especially Pontic Greek and Cypriot Greek. In different articles I dealt with gerunds in Modern Greek; hyperbaton in Classical and Modern Greek; loss of genitive in Medieval Cypriot Greek; information structure; double object constructions and the pièce de résistance, the infinitive in Pontic Greek.
