Funny Man

Funny man, sad man,
Short man, glad man gone.
Gone into the darkness.
Gone to where
The deep despair
Lies hidden.
Unbidden.
Forgot.

All men, all races
Now just blank faces,
Brickless walls with slits for eyes.
So they see
The great decree
By heaven sent.
Penitent.
Lost.
