PUT THESE DATES IN YOUR DIARY !!!
For both walks, meet at The Paddington Stop pub, junction of Blomfield Road and Formosa Street, London W9 (nearest tubes: Warwick Avenue or Royal Oak) at 11:00, ready to start walking at 11:30. If you're late, or miss us, phone my mobile (07946-090105) and we'll arrange to meet you elsewhere.
The walk on 24 June will end at Limehouse DLR station, about 8 miles walking with lots of stops at pubs and cafés on the way. There are numerous rail and tube stations on the way for those who need to leave the walk early.
The walk on 9 September will end somewhere near Acton, again about 8 miles walking. There are a few intermediate tube stations within easy reach of the walk.
Bring with you: this information; comfortable shoes (the towpath is dry underfoot almost everywhere); friends, relatives, children; sunglasses / sun-cream / waterproofs / umbrella (as this is England, you're likely to need all of these in the same day!); camera, binoculars; a bottle of water, snacks, money, and A-Z. Most importantly, bring food for lunch (we'll be stopping for drinks, but not to buy a meal).
It's not absolutely essential, but it would be useful to know who is expecting to come on the walks. Please email John Dawson, or phone 01462-893410.
There is no charge for coming on these walks; an entirely voluntary collection for the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre will be taken at lunchtime (nobody will check to see if you give, or how much).
